Data Ingestion Studio Roadmap
Plan future ingestion workflows without confusing planned features with available tools
Overview
Data Ingestion Studio is evolving from guided file preparation towards more repeatable, connected ingestion workflows. This roadmap explains the planned direction and helps your team distinguish future capabilities from the tools available today.
The capabilities listed as planned are not generally available and do not have committed delivery dates. Priorities and scope may change. Confirm availability with Cat Media before making a business process depend on them.
What works today
- Upload CSV or XLSX files, prepare source columns, map properties and review the results before delivery.
- Match companies using the supported company lookup methods, and match contacts by email address or record ID.
- Prepare company, contact and note files, marketing-event participation and contact custom-event files.
- Download prepared files or, where enabled, confirm supported automated HubSpot ingestion.
- Save portal defaults as a starting point for new imports.
Cat Media can also provide managed imports and integration expertise. A custom integration service does not mean that a built-in Studio connector is already available.
Planned capabilities
API data sources
Bring data directly from other systems' APIs into the preparation and review workflow. This would reduce the need to export files manually. Today, start with a CSV or Excel export from your source system.
Scheduled jobs
Run recurring ingestion on a schedule instead of starting each upload manually. Scheduling and API inputs are planned steps towards more connected workflows; do not assume that the Studio currently runs unattended recurring imports.
Import templates
Recognise incoming file types and apply or suggest a reusable configuration for review. Portal defaults already provide a starting point, but automatic file recognition and reusable import templates are planned.
Delta imports
Identify rows added since a previous run, such as new attendees in a growing webinar export. Today, Process rows after requires your team to choose a cutoff manually. It does not automatically track which rows are new.
Wider object support
Extend coverage towards more objects supported by HubSpot's import tool, including custom objects. Use the current Studio output choices when planning today's imports; broader object support is not yet available.
Automated custom events
Create custom events and deliver or update their occurrences automatically. Today, contact custom-event occurrences are prepared as files only. Marketing-event registration and attendance use a separate, already supported workflow.
Governance rollout
Introduce restricted roles, separate approval for downloads or HubSpot writes, enforced defaults for non-admins, and general defaults that can be applied to selected portals after a second confirmation.
These controls are being prepared for rollout. Confirm that they are enabled in your workspace before relying on an approval policy or enforced setting.
How to plan around the roadmap
Use the current file-based workflow to agree on record identities, mappings and data-quality rules before investing in a recurring integration. A successful reviewed import gives your team a practical starting point for future automation.
- Identify which source systems and recurring exports create the most manual work.
- Document the review and approval steps your team needs before data reaches HubSpot.
- Keep a supported manual or managed workflow in place until the planned capability is available and validated for your use case.
- Tell Cat Media which business outcomes, source systems and recurrence patterns matter most to your team.
