Configure Duplicate Matching and Automation
Tune matching evidence, primary selection and automatic merging
Overview
Duplicate settings control how Furball evaluates contact and company matches and prefers a primary record. Tune the settings to your business, then review the resulting candidates before relying on automation.
Choose useful matching evidence
Contact and company settings are separate. Review the selected properties, whether each is enabled and how much weight it contributes.
- Use Exact matching where a value should agree precisely.
- Use Fuzzy matching where spelling or formatting variation is expected.
- Review the data-score weighting alongside the matching properties.
- Choose which properties should appear on review cards so reviewers can see the evidence they need.
Do not give a commonly shared or unreliable property more importance merely because it is usually populated.
Prefer the right primary record
Primary selection rules can prefer a record where a chosen field is present. For example, an existing external-system identifier may be important when preserving a connected Salesforce record.
Configure the rule's priority and enabled state, then check actual groups. A primary preference is not proof that every candidate belongs in that group.
Use automation deliberately
- Analyse Now starts a manual analysis.
- Auto Analyze enables automatic analysis of CRM data.
- Auto Merge permits automatic merging under the configured criteria.
- Auto Merge Range controls how broadly records qualify. The interface identifies 75 as the default and recommended value, not a guarantee that every match is correct.
Moving the range towards broader criteria increases the need for careful validation. Start with manual review, test representative records and obtain agreement from the owners of connected systems before enabling automatic merging.
How to apply changes
Review the portal ID and settings, then choose Confirm Settings. Run or review analysis afterwards and inspect the resulting groups before accepting a larger set or changing automation.
What to do next
Monitor results and revisit rules when source systems or data standards change. These controls automate deduplication in app.furball.tech; they do not schedule Studio imports. Scheduled Studio ingestion remains on the roadmap.
